The Port Moody Station Museum is seeking Museum Assistants for the Fall season.

The Port Moody Station Museum is now inviting applications for the temporary Museum Assistant positions. The successful candidates help with exhibit design and set up, working in collections, gardening, assist with research, give tours and do programs ( online at the moment- but could change) and do other varied duties around the museum.

The successful candidates will be reliable, possess good written and oral communication skills in English, have good computer skills (MS Office 2013), take initiative and have a desire to learn more of our Country’s past. We encourage the Government of Canada’s job equity groups however; we are located in a Heritage building with stairs which does cause a barrier to some individuals.

To be Eligible you must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 3; and, be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. Federal Grant guidelines do apply.

$15.20/hr plus 4% in lieu of vacation

Duration 16 weeks, 35 hrs/wk

Time frame: Fall 2020, August 24- December (16 weeks)

Language: English is essential, French an asset.
