Welcome New Directors to the Port Moody Heritage Society Board

This past June, the Port Moody Heritage Society elected its board of directors for the 2012-2013 year. With our 2011 President, Wayne Beggs, and a number of other directors stepping down, positions were available for a number of new members. Filling these seats, are new board members Christine Clarke, Armando Elias, Dan Kirchner, Mladen Plecko, and Ron Simpson. We look forward to working with this exciting new team!

We also welcome our new Executive Committee with President Robert Simons, Vice President Al Davies, Secretary Amanda Maplethorp. Continuing on are Treasurer Irene Reid and member Darrell Penner. We greatly appreciate your on-going dedication to the Society and look forward to a productive year of governance.

With our changes in governance, we also have new positions open on a number of committees. Annual General Meeting

It’s that time of year again, where we reflect on everything that has happened in the past year and look into the future of the Port Moody Heritage Society and the Port Moody Station Museum.  The meeting will be taking place at 7:00pm, June 18th at the Port Moody Station Museum(2734 Murray St., Port Moody).  All heritage society members are invited to attend and add their input into the general discussion as well as vote for the new board of directors for the 2012/2013 year.

The annual general meeting is extremely important in solidifying our plans for the future and continuing with our goal of preserving and sharing the heritage of Port Moody.  The society is fuelled by the commitment of our members and volunteers and we are always looking for more people to help in our goals.  If you are interested, visit the membership page or email us at info@portmoodymuseum.org and come out June 18th to learn more about this amazing organization. (In order to vote you must be a member in good standing for at least 30 days)

Are you interested in making your community a better place? Do you enjoy history, public events or education? Join the Board of Directors for the Port Moody Heritage Society!

The Port Moody Station Museum is run by the Port Moody Heritage Society. The Heritage Society is made up of people who are interested in preserving and sharing the heritage and history of Port Moody. This group is led by a volunteer Board of Directors who help oversee the management of the Museum and other Heritage Society projects.

The Board of Directors is currently look for new members who share their interest in Port Moody’s history and the work and the Station Museum. Directors will be elected at the Annual General Meeting on June 11th, 2012. Directors must become members of the Society and be willing to attend monthly meetings (generally held the 2nd Monday of each month).
