Preschool Program (75 min.)

Box Car Kids (ages 3-5)

Take a tour through a real train station and then learn all about trains. Kids will build a railway track then become a train with our boxcar kids train costumes. Explore the Station Museum with a scavenger hunt for railway tools and objects. Finally, kids will board our restored 1921 passenger train car to listen to a story about the Canadian Pacific Railway and its effect on Canada’s development. Or for the younger children they will listen to a story about Jessie and her train ride!

Minimum payment for 10 children ($30) required. A minimum of 1 adult chaperone for every 10 children is required and chaperones receive free admission.
Maximum 22 children per program.

SEA ADVENTURERS  Ages 3-6 (75 minutes)

The Port Moody Station Museum is excited to offer our new Sea Adventurers program!

Experience the exciting world of the Sea in this interactive hands-on program. Learn about different boats and about how the sea has always played an important role in our local history! Learn about what a fisherman does and have fun catching a bunch of fish. Explore different hands on activity stations as you learn about different sea creatures; all the while learning about the important environmental choices we must make to preserve the ocean.

Raising Salmon in your classroom? This would be an excellent program for your class as a portion of the program is dedicated to the importance of salmon in our environment.

A minimum of 1 adult chaperone for every 10 children is required and chaperones receive free admission. Maximum 25 children per program.

Program without Boats $5 per student

Program which includes boat activity $7 per students

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM AT THE MUSEUM

Students will have a fun time at the Museum  shaking their bells/ tambourines while singing Christmas Songs! They will then get a short tour of the museum and do a fun Christmas Scavenger hunt. They will board our 1921 train which is decorated for the season and decorate cookies while listening to Christmas Carols in the background. Santa will then board the train and each kid will get a candy cane and listen to Santa read them a Christmas Story. Then the group can get a group picture with Santa ( or individual ) so bring your cameras!!

 $10 per student ( There is a minimum charge of 10 students)  

Out-of-School Care Program (60 min.)

Riding the Rails (ages 5-10)

Experience the exciting world of trains in this interactive hands-on program. Re-enact a 1920s train trip across Canada in our authentic railway car, the Venosta. Learn to send a telegraph and signal a train in an historical CPR station with real railway artifacts. Explore the station with a scavenger hunt.

Minimum payment for 10 children ($30) required.  A minimum of 1 adult chaperone for every 10 children is required and chaperones receive free admission. Maximum 25 children per program. We are able to accommodate larger groups upon request.
