ELSA Class

ELSA programs are designed to teach students about local history and heritage in a relevant and engaging way. Programs are designed to work with differing levels of English knowledge. All programs are 90 minutes.

$3.00 per person including HST

Daily Life in the Home (Levels 1-2)

Practice daily vocabulary as you match home activities to corresponding objects from the past and present. Examples include cleaning house, cooking and child care.

Community Services Then and Now (Levels 2-3)

Match early community services such as the post office or stage coach and decide their place in modern times. Practice purchasing a service such as milk delivery  by role playing providers and consumers.

Transportation and Communication (Levels 3-4) Coming Soon!

Participate in a scavenger hunt and tour the Museum focusing on its role as a train station and communication hub in early times. Use past travel information (maps, time tables, advertisements) to decide how to get to another destination.
