Please note that this year due to unforeseen circumstances the Model A Ford Club will have a Show & Shine, rather than provide rides. Our sincere regrets as we know this was a highlight for many of you. The Model A Ford Club is working on a solution but until then we want to ensure we respect these changes and enjoy the event!

Celebrate Our Aboriginal Heritage – June 21st noon to 4:00 pm – Salmon BBQ

Join us Saturday June 21st from noon till 4:00 pm for a wonderful celebration of our Aboriginal Heritage. Kwikwetlem First Nation and the Port Moody Heritage Society are proud to partner for this special event. It is with great respect that we take this National Aboriginal Day to celebrate our First Nation Heritage. We will share a Salmon BBQ and activities that educate and share our History. The event is free and the Salmon BBQ dinner is $11.00 per plate.

Activities include: Salmon ‘run’ game, craft activities and various entertainment through out the day.

Mark Your Calender, Monday Feb 10th – Family Day…All Aboard!

Join us and create family history moments. Celebrate your ‘Family Day’ by hammering your message in metal and affixing to our railroad tie. Then get started on your ‘family tree’ with the Station template as your guide.

 $10.00 per Family, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Ioco Ghost Town Day

Join us for some free family fun. Recapture the spirit of the past at the historic Ioco town site. Activities for all ages. Listen to 50s jazz and enjoy a variety show. Try your hand at horseshoes and lawn bowling. Bake and bring the prize winning pie or sample BC grown apples. Kids can decorate and take their own jack o lantern, make a heritage craft or play heritage games. Lots to see and do at this community event.

Where: Ioco Lawn Bowling Green (Ioco Rd. and 1st Ave.)

Summer Event Volunteers – 2009

Hello everyone,

It’s great weather and time to have some fun events at the Museum. Below I’ve listed the events, dates and volunteers we would like to have for each event. Most of our events are free to the public. The hot dog stand helps us pay for the cost of the event. I know it’s not glamorous but it helps keep us going. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions. Thanks for all your support!

Canada Day – Wednesday, July 1st 10:30am-4:30pm

Volunteers needed:

  • Model train enthusiast to who can run and talk about a model train.

Anniversary of the 1st Passenger Train – Saturday and Sunday, July 4th & 5th 11am-4pm

Volunteers needed on Saturday:

  • 4-6 people to help with crafts and games for kids
  • 1 person to grill hot dogs from 11:30-1:30
  • 1 person to grill hot dogs from 1:30 -3:30
  • 1 person to sell hot dogs from 11:30-1:30
  • 1 person to sell hot dogs from 1:30 -3:30

Coming Event – A Tie for Dad – Father's Day Event

Sunday, June 21st ~ 11am – 4pm

Come visit the Port Moody Station Museum Sunday, June 21st between 11am and 4pm for a special Father’s Day treat. Stamp your name on a copper plaque and attach it to a rail tie for $10. Then see our railway handcar, velocipede and 1921 railcar. Learn to send a telegraph in Morse code. Enjoy crafts and games for kids and free lemonade and cookies for Dad!
