This Year’s Ioco Ghost Town Day was a Success!

IMG_0492

Thanks to everyone who participated in making Ioco Ghost Town Days a big success this year.  We had amazing weather, dedicated volunteers and  great entertainment!  Kinsmen served hot dogs and smokies with a smile and there were many crafts and games for the kids. Rebel Haunt Theatre gave 2 great performances as they took crowds around the townsite and everyone loved the Model A Car tours.  Approximately 2000 people came out to look at the displays, listen to the bands, watch the magician and soak in the sun. The Port Moody Heritage Society would like to thank all the sponsors, Heritage Canada, Port Moody Heritage Commission, Pacific Coast Terminals, Freybe’s and Tim Hortons. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the volunteers who made the day such a success!

The Station Museum Goes to Tri Cities VolunteerFest

Tri Cities VolunteerFest

This weekend the Port Moody Station Museum was at the Tri-Cities VolunteerFest at Coquitlam Centre. It was a fantastic event put on by Community Volunteer Connections, where we and other local organizations had the opportunity to meet enthusiastic people looking to give back to the community. We also got to chat with Coquitlam’s mayor Richard Stewart and MP Finn Donnelly. Thanks to CVC for allowing us to connect with so many great new volunteers!
