The Port Moody Heritage Society is happy to announce that we have hired four new Summer Staff!

Thanks to grants from Service Canada and Young Canada Works.

The Museum is now  open 7 days a week 10am-5pm, please come visit the museum and  introduce yourself to our new staff they are excite to meet you.

Port Moody Station Museum is having a Newfie Kitchen Party! JULY 1

This year, on July 1st is the 100th anniversary of the battle of Beaumont Hamel , the Museum will be having two events.

The first event happens on June 30th, with a 7pm Trench Talks on the battle of Beaumont Hamel, with a candle light vigil following.

On July 1st, at 5pm we will be having a Newfie Kitchen Party, tickets go on sale today. $30, East Coast Traditional Lobster Dinner and entertainment by the group Newfish.

New Fish are an Irish/East Coast band, they have played together for several years all over Vancouver and the rest of the Lower Mainland. All members are multi-instrumentalists with banjo, fiddle, bodhran, whistle, uilleann pipes, bouzouki, accordion, keys, kick drum and guitar all part of what you can expect to hear. New Fish are a lively, fast playing foot stomping group with the King of Celt himself Jimmy Cole at the forefront.

Beer will be available for purchase from three of the following local breweries :Moody Ales, Yellow Dog and Parkside.

Member Mary Anne Cooper has wowed us again!

Port Moody Heritage Society member, Dr. Mary Anne Cooper is truly an inspiration,  she has made history in Arizona after breaking three all time national records in swimming. Mary Anne Cooper, who is 101 years old, set three national swimming records for those who are a member of the century club. She set records for the 50, 100 and 200 meter backstroke. She can now add swimming national champion to the long list of achievements she has had in her life! You continue to amaze us! Congratulations Mary Anne!
