The Port Moody Heritage Society put on our Third Trench Talks Event this past Saturday, April 9. We had a great turn out and John Goheen gave a great presentation on the battle of Vimy Ridge. Once the presentation was over the Trench Squad gave tours and then did our Second Re-Enactment photo of a WW1 photo. This is a new project that the museum will be doing for the next 2 years. Each Trench Talk event we will be choosing a WW1 photo to re-enact.
The photo that was chosen for the Re-enactment was a 1917 photo of Canadians in captured trenches on Hill 70. August, 1917. Photo: Dept. of National Defence / LAC. seen below. We want to thank Diane Strandberg from the Tri City Newpaper for doing a great article, Gerrit, Bill and Geoff from Tri City Community Television for filming the event! We had Bryan Ness from the Port Coquitlam Heritage and Cultural Society taking our Re-enactment photos!
