New Performance Area at the Port Moody Station Museum Completed!

The Port Moody Station Museum has a new Performance Area located beside the Venosta, all thanks to funding from Port Moody Foundation! It will get its first use at our upcoming Easter Event happening Sunday March 27th. Thank you to Executive Director  Jim Millar and  volunteers Peter Hiebert  and Trevor Millar for helping  build it! Now Taking Applications for Museum Assistants for the Summer!

The Port Moody Station Museum is seeking two Museum Assistants for the busy summer season. We are hiring for 2 positions of 16 weeks (dependent on funding from Service Canada and Young Canada Works).

The Port Moody Station Museum is now inviting applications for the temporary Museum Assistant positions. The successful candidates will give tours, deliver programs to children and seniors, help with exhibit design and set up, assist with special events and do other varied duties around the museum.

The successful candidates will be reliable, possess good written and oral communication skills in English, have good computer skills (MS Office 2013), take initiative and have a desire to learn more of our Country’s past. We encourage the Government of Canada’s job equity groups however; we are located in a Heritage building with stairs which does cause a barrier to some individuals.
$12.75/hr plus 4% in lieu of vacation
Duration 16 weeks, 35 hrs/wk
Timeframe: Summer 2016, early May to early September
Language: English is essential, French an asset.
Weekends required

The Port Moody Station Museum loves to have our Easter Event and this year we are still looking for volunteers to help out! The event is happening at the museum on Sunday March 27th at 10am and goes until 2pm, rain or shine!

We need help in the following areas:

CRAFT AREA:

Bunny Ear Making

Easter Basket Making

Chocolate Table

Fish Pond

Face Painting

Toddler Area

Floaters ( help covers breaks and gets to do all stations throughout the day)

2 more volunteers needed for Admissions

Concession

Concession Cashier
