On June 21, the Port Moody Station Museum held an Aboriginal Workshop to commemorate National Aboriginal Day. First Nations Historian, Educator and Facilitator, Alice Guss (Tsawaysia Spukwus) was here to teach/facilitate making drums and cedar baskets. We would like to thank Alice Guss (Tsawaysia Spukwus) for putting on such great workshops. Our guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed Alice’s songs, information, and engaging teaching style.
We also would like to thank Anne Uebbing from Kinder Books for putting up her display of First Nations stories and puppets, along with Laura Thomas from Coquitlam Snap’d for joining us to take pictures of our event.
A big thank you goes out to Dominion Lending Centres which lent us a Projector Screen for our event, we had a slideshow about information on First Nation groups throughout Canada. We really appreciated their support!
We had many games and coloring activities for the kids to do and the day was enjoyed by many! To see more photos from this event (and others) check out our Facebook page.
