The Port Moody Heritage Society’s CPR Centennial Train Excursion was enjoyed by community members of all ages. The August 18th event featured a 1950’s heritage diesel train making two round trips to Mission and back.
Hundreds of train enthusiasts came out to the Ioco Spurline behind the Recreation Centre to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event which is part of Port Moody’s Centennial celebrations.
While waiting to board, passengers enjoyed the music of local bands. With 5 on a String playing by the train queue and Antique Gold singing to the bus passengers, there were smiles all around even before the train boarded.
A number of dedicated volunteers and staff worked hard to make this event a success and we thank them for all their help.
