Join the Port Moody Heritage Society

Ioco Ghost Town Day

For those of you who don’t know, the Port Moody Heritage Society owns and operates the Port Moody Station Museum. In addition to this work, the Society organizes events like Ioco Days and projects like our upcoming history book.  The Society is made up of individuals who care about Port Moody’s past and we are looking for a few good people to join us.

If you aren’t already, we encourage you to join. Annual memberships cost $10 for individuals and $15 for a family. Your membership entitles you to receive the Heritage Society “Station Telegram” newsletter, invitation to member only events, discounts on certain Heritage Society events and rentals and the right to vote at the Heritage Society AGM.

Membership fees support the work of the Heritage Society including maintaining its artifact collection and educating the community about Port Moody’s heritage through programs, events and information services at the Station Museum and elsewhere.

  1. Hi.
I just wanted to alert anyone interested in saving an old apple tree with superb fruit(Gala?)of the situation.
It is across the road from house 1760 on Ioco Rd (north side of the road about 50m back from the corner where the small church house stands).
The road bank is caving away beneath the tree.
It appears to me that a short rock and cement wall could be built beneath the tree to prevent the bank from eroding any further.
If this sounds possible to any there I would be willing to volunteer my time and labour.
